ANTI SWEAT TREATMENT

The summer season brings with it a range of activities that make us feel happy such as outdoor picnics and barbeques. However, for those with hyperhidrosis, it can be an uncomfortable time. With a prevalence of up to 3% of the UK population, hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, can cause significant disruption to daily life. Although sweating is a normal body function, it can become excessive if the sweat glands are overactive, resulting in embarrassment and discomfort, both socially and professionally.

Hyperhidrosis can lead to sufferers avoiding physical contact and restricting their movements, causing unnecessary anxiety. Fortunately, there is a highly effective solution, botox. This natural, purified protein, produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum, works by blocking the nerve endings controlling the sweat glands in the treated area, preventing underarm sweating. The medication is administered through tiny injections, which relaxes the muscle, reducing the activity of the sweat glands. A local anaesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area for increased comfort, and a fine needle is used for the injections. It is important to note that claims that this treatment causes excessive sweat production elsewhere are 100% untrue.

The outstanding benefits of this treatment cannot be overstated, with many patients wishing they had sought it earlier in life. Popular treatment areas include underarms, hands, and feet. You can start to notice reduced sweating within 2 or 3 days, and the full effects are experienced within 3 to 10 days, typically lasting between six to nine months. To maintain the effects indefinitely, it is recommended to renew the treatment once or twice a year, depending on your results. Don't let hyperhidrosis hold you back from enjoying life – consider anti sweat botox treatment today.

ANTI SWEAT FAQ's

What actually is Anti-sweat treatment?

Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for frequent or excessive sweating. Sweating is the body’s natural way of cooling down, but when the body produces more sweat than is necessary to cool the body, this is known as hyperhidrosis. This treatment involves the Botox solution being injected into the sweat glands. These injections relax the tiny sweat glands located just under the skin which normally produce sweat, which then travels up the sweat duct and out through the pores onto the surface of the skin. With these sweat glands in a more relaxed state, they no longer over produce sweat and that excessive sweat is no longer seen or felt at the skins surface.
